Tharushi, affectionately known as “Dabi”, graduated in 2022 with a BSc in Physical Science, specializing in Industrial Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. She currently works as a freelance children’s book illustrator, with a passion for traditional hand-drawn illustrations and digital illustrations since 2018. Her preferred mediums to work with are watercolours and coloured pencils. She enjoys drawing various children’s illustrations, with a fondness for creating magical and whimsical illustrations with unique details and lighting accents. Her sources of inspiration include her daily life, surroundings, childhood memories, fantasy imagery, and other artists’ works. Tharushi is an avid reader who enjoys books of different genres. She is also the founder and powerhouse behind Dabi’s Paper, a stationery brand that celebrates creativity. Her dream is to create a worldwide renowned brand through Dabi’s Paper while collaborating with new authors to bring their stories to life, growing, and inspiring others.
